Directions: The pub, in Minley near Blackwater, is just a few minutes drive from Junction 4a on the M3. From the exit off the M3 head north along the A327 (Minley Road) and you will arrive on the left at the Crown and Cushion. There are a number of alternative routes which avoid, or largely avoid, the motorways, These can be found on a SatNav and chosen according to traffic conditions on the day.

Parking: There is ample parking provided next to the pub.

The Walk is just over 3 miles long, on easy terrain with no significant inclines and no stiles or gates.. It explores the adjacent Hawley Common: through woodland tracks, passing along and around Hawley Lake and its wildfowl. The paths are a mixture of tarmac/stone firm tracks and softer woodland paths. We briefly cross a sandy beach area as part of the Hawley Lake. Within the Common we pass around the Minley MOD training area. We follow the public rights of way on the Common. Dogs are welcome on the walk, although may at times need to be on a lead.

Fairmile motor racing

The circuit was narrow and winding
